Scottish Gaming Industry Gets a huge Funding Boost

Dundee, which is the centre of many new Scottish innovations has just received a massive £2.5 Million cash injection for gaming development and education, this follows a £1 Million development in Salford. The cash will create a healthy job increase across the gaming sector as well as ensuring future development in the UK for the gaming industry as a whole.

Scots secretary Jim Murphy said: “This is a great day for the games industry and really good news for Dundee.

“A crucial element will be the deployment of talented students working together with small firms on prototype creation – breaking new ground in on-campus working and ‘industry-ready’ graduates.

“This innovative approach and new investment will ensure we continue to develop the homegrown talent. This is vital if we are to ensure our video games firms are best placed to take advantage of the growing global market.”
