FingerSports is constantly changing and improving, we are currently working on simple improvements to make things more streamlined.
New features include:
Community demo upload area found here – This was requested by Gaz so that he could gather demos up for a community movie, if anyone else would like access to the demo page let me know and I will give you the link. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to upload demos, when you have uploaded make a post here on the forums to let us know that you have added your bit.
Game servers are now shown in the bar on the right side of the main page, clicking the magnifying glass icon will let you see more information about the server
Further streamlined the screenshot upload page to increase speeds, things should load and upload much quicker there now.
Tidied up the forums so that they are easier to navigate.
And a whole whack of other smaller improvements and suggested changes to make things better, this is an ongoing task. If you have something you would like to see on FingerSports please make a post here on the forums to let us know. (Alternatively you can leave a comment below)
To do:
Decrease loading times for server status on the main page: This is caused by the webhost blocking the game ports from query, this means I have to use a feed from another website to show the status, hence the delay. I am working on this.
Add a comment section to the gallery so that people can leave comments on the screenshot uploads: Working on this for some time now, not exactly sure how I will achieve this but either way I will give it my best shot.
Add a section for UK eSports coverage: This is just about good to go, we should see this implemented this week. Diluted will be helping out here with the news feed (legend), If anyone else wants to chip in please let me know, we ALWAYS need help.
Style server pages: Individual server pages need to be styled to match the main site.
Add server stats information to the site: This info is pulled from Mani-admin via a text file, however with the introduction of our BC2 servers we no longer have access to FTP for this kind of stuff. So to get around this KillerCreations are helping me make a batch file to export the stats to the FingerSports website server and then from there I will get them onto the main site (somehow). Actively working on this feature.
Promote the community: This is an ongoing task, we are carefully and tastefully promoting the site all over the internet, I also have plans to get the giant foam hands and community t-shits ready in time for i40, this will help greatly to get our name out there. You can help by promoting the website name wherever you can, using the FSports tag in our servers and generally being active on the forums and servers. Please don’t spam/flood/promote the website in ways which are seen as taboo, we are not looking to get a bad name for it.
Get some “e-merchandise” up: This includes things like a community frag/mix movie, desktop wallpapers, more server templates and so on.. I need help here please, if you have the skills I could use the help!
