The G-Star annual trade show has commenced in South Korea and updates on MMOs were nothing short of many. But one really caught the attention of online gamers. NCsoft revealed a video of the sequel to Lineage called Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance. LE is an MMORPG just like its predecessors. However, unlike Lineage 2, it uses an isometric-overhead view much like the first incarnation. Graphics have been improved greatly and in addition, the game uses a Smart View System which adjusts the angles of the camera as you traverse across different areas of the map. Yet another interesting element is the interaction with objects in the players’ surroundings. You will be able to throw pots at enemies, light up braziers and hurl containers of fire into tents to engulf them in flames, forcing enemies inside to flee outside.
Three classes have been introduced so far which are the Knight, the Mage, and the Spirit Archer. While most of the abilities aren’t exactlynew in the world of RPG, their execution is something of note. NCsoft incorporated a Drag & Hold Control System which allows players to use gestures to activate skills and magic by holding the right mouse button and drawing on the screen. There will be plenty of co-op action and PvPing as shown in the trailer but you can see more for yourself in the clip below.
